Land Energy is the UK’s leading biomass energy company, specialising in the production of wood pellets, briquettes and natural living soils. With a 10-acre production site in Girvan, the company has developed six main brands including Woodlets briquettes, Kittilitt cat litter , Sorbeo (horse bedding) and Re-Gen natural soil fertiliser.

Land Energy first engaged with Business Gateway in 2024 and received grant funding via the AMBITION programme for a digitisation project to support its stock management and control system.

More recently, the company was supported through the AMBITION to Grow programme in the purchase and installation of a collaborative robot - COBOT – in the briquette production line to boost efficiency and innovation.

Programmed to undertake a specific packaging requirement which we had previously been unable to fulfil within our current process , the COBOT presented us with the opportunity to bid for and secure a major order. Its integration in our production line has been a significant addition to our process capability, one which we could not have achieved without the support of the AMBITION programme.
