WilderBlooms is a sustainable floristry business founded by Emma Angus. Emma creates beautiful, eco-friendly flower arrangements for personal and corporate gifts, local businesses and weddings from flowers she grows in own garden in rural Ayrshire, and from other independent, organic growers.

Using plastic free packaging, WilderBlooms currently delivers throughout Ayrshire although is now looking to expand across the UK, with help from Business Gateway.

Emma says: “As a keen gardener and environmentalist, I initially set up WilderBlooms as a hobby. I began to test the market in 2023 and then following a good response, decided to go ‘all in’ and establish a full-time business. It was only after getting started that I got in touch with Business Gateway, though in hindsight I wish I’d done that sooner, as they could have been so much help from the very beginning!

“In the early stages, my Business Advisor at South Ayrshire Council arranged one-to-one support from a social media consultant via the AMBITION programme, which really worked for me, as most of my marketing is online. Their vast wealth of knowledge helped me to grow my channels, particularly Instagram, and drive traffic to my website via SEO.

“I’m now ready to expand WilderBlooms and promote subscriptions across the UK but I need support to do so. My Business Advisor has organised more ‘Expert Help’ for me via AMBITION, this time for business strategy and finance. I’m really excited to be taking things to the next level.

“I’m so grateful to Business Gateway for helping me on this journey. My Advisor has been incredibly supportive from the very first contact. Wilder Blooms was shortlisted for the Small Business Britain/BT national Green Growth Award in March 2025 and also recently in the UK Green Business Awards in the ‘Retailer of the Year’ category.
